Meh. I wasn't impressed. I've visited Jasper's on several occasions, the most recent being a few Saturdays for a late lunch. I went with a group of friends, I believe there was six of us total, around 3 pm, so the midday lunch rush had subsided by the time we were seated. I ordered the broiled seafood platter. The food was plentiful, but bland. I should have ordered a burger or something a little less fancy. Jasper's is not a seafood restaurant, and therefore, my expectations for their seafood should have been a bit lower than they were. One thing that was REALLY good was their strawberry lemonade. That was delicious.

Had a very terrible experience! I dined here a few nights ago my server was very friendly and attentive. The problem was their food! I ordered their honey bbq wings as an appetizer why would I ever be served food with a deep fried roach mixed in my wings. I was disgusted, disappointed and very frustrated! The server let me know they do have roaches but it's usually not in the food. The manager Carol was very rude and was no help at all to the situation, as he tried to put blame on the guests versus giving me a free meal for the day. After seeing such I didn't even want my entree anymore, I ordered the Crab Bomb :/ I will ever fine here again! Terrible food and management was even worse.

Typical American cuisine choices. It's a nice venue a decent restaurant nothing fancy. Customer service is mediocre. Prices are decent. Brunch -not impressed. Typical usual choices buffet style. Not too bad or super great restaurant.

Ok, let's be super honest- if you ever had their tiger wings you know that's the REAL reason why you return. Usually, if I order wings from anywhere I have to emphasize "well done/really crispy/fried hard" but JASPER's gets me !!! OMG from first bite, I was in absolute admiration. The wings were so crispy on the outside but succulent and moist on the inside that I almost ordered more to take home for later. Let's talk about that tiger sauce -- perfect balance of sweet heat. Like a good Asian zing or General Tso... I could drink it by the gallon. In addition to my wings, which came as a lunch special (8 wings and a side) I also had mashed potatoes loaded (with no upcharge). The potatoes were "eh" not cheesy enough if you ask me but my friend DEVOURED hers. Service was about the same as well, nothing to rave about. Thank you Jasper for raising the bar with your Tiger Wings. I'd return simply for the best wings I've ever had.

I thank God for being pretty. Because it earned my friend and I preferential treatment here. #theperksofwomanhood But seriously though. I had never been to Jasper's before but I had heard good things about it. My friend suggested we go, and thus, we went. Upon entering, we could barely get the door open before an employee tripped over himself to hold the door for us. As soon as we got to the front, the host made a comment about our 'gorgeous' appearance and asked where we wanted to sit, saying we could 'walk around and take our pick'. Lol, well thanks. We scanned the area, chose a spot, and told him where we wanted to sit. It was at that moment I noticed the 'dress code' regulating what men and women could wear. That was interesting. We were seated quickly and immediately were greeted by a young man who had A LOT of tables to wait on, yet he was extremely attentive to our needs! He probably told us we were beautiful like four or five times lol, and of course he gave us some extra freebies just because he liked the way we looked lol. The food was really good...I savored every last little bit. My friend and I both got speciality burgers, and the fries were amaze! I swear the bill was wayyyy less than it was supposed to be!;-) We tipped our server well, though he requested our numbers instead lol. There's a heavy police presence in and around this building to prevent rift-raft from happening. However it seemed like some of them were more concerned about trying to make love connections...I had an officer leave his post to try and get my number...lmao. Lol I loved Jasper's.

I actually enjoyed Jaspers. My server Molly was awesome. She was truly attentive and she was knowledgeable about the menu. I went on a Saturday afternoon, so the place wasn't packed. It was quite pleasant. I ordered the spinach dip for an appetizer. It was the best I've had. For lunch, I had a black bean burger with tiger sauce and some "interesting" mayo. I strongly dislike the mayo-ish sauce. The patty was undercooked, and I'm a vegetarian so I know. For sides, I got the broccoli and sweet potato casserole. My sides were awesome! The broccoli was steamed with herbs. The sweet potato casserole was more of a dessert with the cinnamon and brown sugar. I'm definitely returning simply for the apps, sides, and maybe drinks.

Hard to beat a $20 brunch buffet in this area. But I still dreaded coming to Jasper's with some friends after church for the first time in years after never having been impressed and was pleasantly surprised I didn't want to flip a table by the end. They don't take brunch reservations (we'd tried the week prior) and the hostess stand was a hot mess quoting a 1.5 hour wait to scare us away but we waited anyway and were sat within about 25 minutes. Imagine if we had left? Clearly a retraining is needed, I understand managing expectations but don't miss out on customers because you're afraid. Our server was friendly but perhaps a bit in the weeds, she forgot flatware, drinks, etc. The buffet staff (mainly waffle man) was surly as hell but maybe he was having a bad day. #notmyproblem. Saved from 2 stardom by the yummy food. I guess the secret to a good time is to have my head in a good Christian, patient place.

Again my personal Yelp consultant (i.e. Yelp app) lead me here. I thought the building was closed or had moved when I arrived because it looks a little "empty" for lack of a better word. However when we stepped inside we were transported to a place somewhere between the 1940s and the present. The layout is very reminiscent of an old jazz club with the bar taking the center stage. Large televisions to watch while you eat and a happy hour (that our waiter unfortunately failed to tell us about) and a very (maybe too large??) menu. I ordered chicken tenders and my friend ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and was very happy with his flavors. Nothing surprising about my dish but I just wanted something quick. As with many restaurants substituting for a salad instead of fries is an upcharge (why is being healthy so expensive?!) so I opted out. But I did try a side of the collard greens and it reminded me of something my Mom would make. Perfect balance of salty and bitter with chunks of smoked pork in it. Mmmm. All in all I'm glad I didn't judge Jaspers by it's cover (or lack of one!) and took a chance to go in. Don't be afraid of the culinary unknown Yelpers, you might just be surprised.

I ate here twice in about 2 months.. I thought I just got lucky the first time-- my meal was really good. But the 2nd time; the steak and shrimp with peppers, onions, and black beans and rice was Excellent! Steak cooked medium to my request, so tender and flavorful that I did'nt need steak sauce. The peppers were fresh and there were lots of shrimp. Both times I have eaten at the bar and have not been disappointed with the drinks or the food. The crowd is HH mid 30's to 40's, older and mature. It's probably one of the best places to eat in this location, because there aren't a lot of restaurant options on this side of town.

I had the sirloin and crab explosion combo and washed it down with the coco-mango madness cocktail. My friend does not suggest the Georgia Peach cocktail

I've been here mostly for their buffet brunch and once for dinner. I prefer the brunch here as they have a huge variety at their buffet.. It's a good mixture between really good breakfast items (waffles, eggs, bacon) and good soul food choices (fish, chicken, greens).. The dinner menu is mostly soul food, which is fine by me, and everything that was delivered to our table (except the Mac and cheese) was delicious! The only reason I'm deducting any stars at all is because the service at brunch leaves a bit to be desired.. The wait staff is usually non existent since everything is self serve but trying to get a refill on your drink takes forever!! I once even had a waitress loose half of the payment for our bill and tried to say we didn't give it to her, I'm not even sure how they get so frazzled when they are literally doing nothing!

My BFF and another acquaintance decided to venture here on a Saturday NFL play-offs night. We decided to meet at 8pm. We arrived around 7:45pm and the place was super packed. It took us about 5 minutes to find an empty parking spot. Having frequented Jaspers before, but definitely not on a consistent basis, I was curious to see if there had been any changes, as I hadn't been in a few years. Jaspers management seems like they strive for that upscale, opulent type of establishment but something is always missing. Maybe it's the constant PG police presence or the caliber of frequent customers. I dunno... Anyway. Our wait was around 20 minutes. Not too bad considering how busy they were. Once seated we had an AMAZING waiter. He rocked. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and had a great personality despite the hectic environment around him. I ordered the Explosive Crab Dip and the Shrimp and Grits entree. The appetizer was really, really delicious. Plentiful, chunky crab meat...I mean they didn't skimp at all. But that Shrimp and Grits....honey nawwww. The Grits were terrible, absolutely terrible. I can barely explain it. It was really gritty and clumpy. I had to send that mess back to the chef. I declined a replacement meal. The manager excluded that item from the bill/receipt. My BFF's entree (Grilled Salmon and Shrimp) was also ok. Albeit the signature side order Macaroni and Cheese was not too great. It wasn't even baked nor creamy. Somebody's grandmother from the south needs to be in the kitchen helping them out...Grits and macaroni and cheese are simple, relatively easy dishes. Smh. All in all the service was outstanding, the drinks delicious and the atmosphere lively. I would visit again and hopefully some changes are made concerning proper preparation of some of their dishes.

Bad service at the bar area. The Caucasian lady with tattoos on her arm is not the nicest and her customer service is very poor. On the night I was there she looked me over and did not even ask if I needed anything. She offered up several bad facial expressions and mostly talked to the men while flirting on the job. The male bar tender was polite but by default. The food is alright and not the best. The bar manager light skinned african male very rude and unapproachable. I was here on a slow night ... Smh

Crab dip is the way to start every meal here... I always use the bread that comes out prior to to dip in the crab dip. For my meal I mostly go for the delicious turkey burger and sweet potato fries... Most of the drinks here are a lil too strong for my taste, but if you like a strong drink you should order the Grape Martini it was good..

  • Crystal H.

I def wasn't planning on going here on the night I was there! However, I had a great time watching the games and having drinks with my bros. The happy hour appetizer and drink specials are very good! I had an amazing shrimp and crab dip as well as one of the bros had a shrimp and crab cocktail. The food was pretty good bar food! And I was surprised by the strength of my drink. I consider myself a lightweight when it comes to alcohol and I don't know what the young lady did to the drink I ordered, but it was super strong. That totally surprised me given that it was happy hour and that is usually not the case! It was super crowded in there! Clearly it is a hot spot in the evenings! You can have a good time with the right people, but be prepared for the crowds of people!

Came here for happy hour on a Friday night. We got there early so there was barely anyone in the restaurant except for a few folks at the bar. We were greeted and seated immediately. I hadn't been to Jaspers in years and I dont ever remember having a bad experience here. I wasnt disappointed this time either. The food and drinks were good and our waiter was quick and attentive. I ordered the Latino Eggrolls and some type of mango drink that was DELICIOUS! As we were leaving, more folks started to trickle in and head to the bar. This place is close to my job so I will definitely be coming back here for happy hour!

I'm one to never complain. I work in the service industry myself and I know how customers can sometimes be a challenge. However my first experience tonight with this venue will never be forgotten. Upon arrival my friend and I were seated and given menus. 10 minutes passed by no server, No water or any acknowledgement given. Then another table is sat down they are there for about 5 minutes and the server comes over takes the order and leaves. Then the table behind us is seated within 3 minutes they are greeted by a server and with warm bread for their table along with waters. At this point I ask a random passing serving if she knows who out server is and she said let me find out. By now we are almost 30 minutes no greeting no food no anything and finally a server Kenny shows up and says You ready to order. Never have I experienced service this horrible. You make me wait 30 minutes and then when you show up not even a smile a hello how are you nothing. I'm over it at this point but order anyway and once we got through tragedy of a meal. We asked for the manager. So CJ comes out and says I wish you would have informed me earlier so I could have switched the server so I can't do anything for you or about your bill and I will speak with Kenny. Ok I've already been inconvenienced and made to wait so how is switching out the serving going to change anything. The manager missed the whole point. While I'm very capable of paying for my meal I don't need a handout. I just want good timely service. When that greeter sat us down he should have notified the sever he was seating his area which did not happen and which ultimately lead to the delay in service. At the end Cj apologized and wrote a note on card saying up to a $20.00 credit on my next visit. Thanks but No Thanks there will be no next visit. Why not fix the issue at hand while it's still and an issue and not push it forward as a reminder of your failed service.

We went for Easter Brunch and the food was really good. Omelet bar was absolutely on point, My favorite...The fajita bar was heaven & the chicken fajita just melted in my mouth, the waffle bar was cool just start giving out more than just 1 waffle (stingy). Jasper's fell short of 5 stars because our server was slow. My sister ordered milk & it took forever to come...why? We had to wait about 10 minutes for our check...not cool at all. I think she was overwhelmed.

The service is extremely slow. My table is having trouble just getting water and napkins. 25 minutes for water is unacceptable. 45 minutes for food w/o seeing the waiter is ridiculous. I try to support my neighborhood businesses but this is what makes me venture out. I gave them an extra star because this place use to be BET Soundstage.

Jasper's is the go to spot to watch sports with friend, good drink or just to grab some food. If I get a drink, most likely its a fruity type of drink that will hit me a little later or when I stand up. LOL They fill the glass to the top! For food, I love their chicken tenders and boneless wing trio (dipped in three sauces: honey bbq, spicy buffalo and sweet tiger chile -mmmm!) appetizer. Brunch on Sunday is great as well. They have a buffet! All kind of food! All You Can Eat for $19. Not bad...Right? Well, I believe it was worth every penny. They had eggs, girts, three types of sausage, belgium waffles (made right at the buffet), french toast bites, bacon, chicken, omletes (made just the way you want), fajita bar, fruit bar, Chef Carved Oven Roasted Beef and Ham...list goes on and on! But...Dont take my word for it...Try it for yourself! :)

Long time ago I worked at Jasper's for a few months waiting tables. During that time I fell in love with the crab dip. So, for years I would go to the closest location for special occasions to get my crab dip and stuffed shrimp. Then all locations closed except Largo, I was sad, by that time I was a Baltimore resident and knew I would never be down that way. Recently I have been in the area during lunch so said to myself. "Jasper's! Crab Dip! Gotta have it now" Both times I visited the past month have been disappointing! crab dip is same recipe but they serve it with store made chips now. First visit it was cold! so cold I just boxed it up and made home made chips when I got home to eat it. Second visit it was in a smaller bowl with same boring chips and half loaf of hard stale bread. On both visits my partner asked for a recommendation from me. I suggested chicken tenders based on my partners taste in food and what was popular when I worked there. Partner loved them on first visit, something about the honey mustard is addicting. Second visit they were way to overcooked and dry. I'm usually a crab dip is a meal girl but since the first visit was disappointing I order the club sandwich on the second visit. Really, it was nothing special, fresh bread not toasted so got soggy within 5 minutes. First layer of lettuce was nice and fresh, but the second layer of lettuce was wilted and I had to pick it off. But the one thing that bothered me most of all was the service. Wait staff was friendly but both times I was there for over an hour. This is lunch, who has over an hour to eat during the day. On this last visit I asked for a box, normal indicator that I was done. 20minutes later a box came with no check. Asked for a check, that came 10 minutes later. Immediately put card in folio, she picked it up 5 minutes later and processed the card for 10 minutes. This was a late lunch, not crowded so no excuse for me to wait over 40 minutes after my last bite to wait to close out the table. As I waited I got more infuriated watching traffic back up on 495 via an app because this waitress took her time closing me out. I went into the restaurant around 2:50 and left at 4:15. When I worked at Jasper's all those years ago, lunch was supposed to be wrapped up by 45 minutes for customers, 30 minutes was ideal and 90 minutes for dinner. This policy seems to not exist anymore and once you order you are stuck until they wait staff decides when you can leave. No good!

This rating is for the meal(only..not facilities) I had today. I tried the Jamaican grill ( steak, crab cake, shrimp and bell pepper slices). It this was the first time trying this dish and I don't know if this is the way it's supposed to taste or what. I didn't taste anything Caribbean or Jamaican about it. Seemed to be doused in a hot sauce that was watery. The shrimp tasted like they were frozen and tossed in to the mix of sauce...hence watery consistency. I opted for plain rice. Came with a slight flavor (not jasmine..maybe butter), but it was kind of hard..still needed to be steamed a little longer. So if you are looking for something Jerk..This is not it. Oh! Crab cake....nah! Not while it was sitting in that sauce.

It goes down on Saturdayyyyyyyyyyy's ! I enjoy myself every time, the vibe is decent. The crowd is 25-38 average which is good. Applebee's is up the street and compared to the crowds in the area its more upper echelon.

My friends and I decided to go to Jaspers for a fun birthday celebration at 8 PM on a Friday night. When we got there we were told that there was no designated seating and to go find a table. We were reseated four different times, by restaurant staff before we finally were given our final table which was not big enough for our entire party. Now granted we had a rather large party of about 25-30 people. So some of us stood, while others orders were taken and they ate. The orders were taken rather quickly which we were happy to see, however it took a while for our drinks or our orders to come out. Some of us were waiting for over an hour for our food. When we did get our food which is very affordable, we were very pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. If you are there try the candied yams/sweet potatoes... They are simply to die for!!! Towards the end of our meal another party that was there had broken out into a fight in the waiting area of the restaurant. The scuffle was rather loud as we could hear it on the other side of the restaurant. When some of us moved towards the front to see what was happening, we saw at least 5 different police officers trying to break up two women fighting. The end result of our dining experience: 1) Our waitress was very friendly. 2) One of the ladies that came to help clear the table so some of us could sit down and eat was very friendly, the other one seemed offended that we asked her to take some of the dirty dishes back to make room for some of our plates. 3) The food was great and very affordable. If I do go back it will be only for the food, and probably not on a night when folks tend to plan to go out after hours and pre-game during dinner. 4) It took from 8 PM until midnight for all of us to be able to sit and get all of our food and drinks. And this was with our calling ahead to ensure that they had seating for a party of our size.

I have given this Jaspers chance after chance and I can not do it anymore. I receive lackluster service every time I go. I only go because my husband loves it. I used to love Jaspers and was sad to see the Crofton and Greenbelt locations close. The food is ok, when prepared properly. Once I recieved cold crab dip and when asked to reheat, it seemed like a huge imposition. Last time we were "greeted" by the hostesses and then seated. We waited 15 minutes for our waiter. This would be expected if the place was crowded, but total, it was only about 10 tables with patrons. We got up and left. There are too many (nicer, tastier, newer) restaurants in the DMV for me to beg Jaspers to take my money...

In town on business and my first time at Jasper's. I had the broiled seafood platter and most of the seafood was severely overcooked. I really should've sent it back but I was pressed for time. I'd probably go back but only for drinks and non-seafood appetizers.

Def a place for happy hours and appetizer's. the food is ok, nothing special. this time the chips were stale, but the strength of their drinks make up for a lot..it is really a hang out spot.

The service was horrible, the food was very greasy! I thought Jasper's had a reputation of being a pretty decent place to eat,but I guess I heard wrong Will never step foot in that place again.

This place is a meat market for singles and players. I dont like to each in such atmospheres. The food was OK nothing to jump up and down about. I came here as Out Back had a long wait. I should have waited.

Well, well, well.... What do we have here? I've passed by this place for years when I am in the area visiting family and it never occurred to me to check it out. I heard it was the old BET Soundstage back in the day, but that was about all I heard about the spot... nothing about the restaurant that now make's its home there. So, this past Sunday, when we were looking for a brunch spot we hadn't tried yet close to our church, my friendly, handy Yelp app pointed me in the direction of Jasper's. My hubby and I figured we would give it ago and made our way there. When we arrived, the place was packed to the gills with a 45-minute wait. I was just about to turn around and leave when the hostess told me that we could sit immediately if we were willing to sit at the bar area. Seeing that it was just me and him, we went for it. I am so happy we did. I came to find out, it was the same great buffet with the same great service from staff and no wait. A win, win, win! There was a spread of fresh fruit and breakfast breads, omelettes made to order, as well as waffles, and savory brunch items as well like greens, chicken, and roast beef, etc. It was truly a smorgasbord of tasty options, all mouthwatering. My mimosas were good as well, albeit not unlimited. lol! But, for $2.99 a glass, it was fair, I suppose. There's a sign at the door when you come in saying that due to the popularity of Sunday brunch, parties are only allowed to sit for a total of two hours to make room for others. I found the note a bit odd, but I got it. I once went to a brunch in NYC and stayed until doors closed due to the unlimited nature of the mimosas, so I bet that sign was meant for me. Come to think of it, I bet the fact that there weren't unlimited mimosas also had something to do with me (or folks like me... lol). Definitely going back. It's the best $18 brunch buffet in the area. Up there with Rip's in Bowie, which I adore!

Jasper's is great I love the crab explosion get the dearth Vader or the after party I love the ambiance here and I love you don't have a bunch of stuck up white people walking around serving just to get good service. You get GREAT service here and it's a chill spot! Happy New Year Bitches lol

I had a horrible experience that will prevent me from ever going to Jasper's (Largo) restaurant ever again. Please read! Me and a friend of mines decided to have drinks and a quick meal. With her love for their famous crab dip. She/we decided Jasper's was the place.....BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!! First, there were three young ladies at the door talking to one another whom never acknowledged that we had even come through the door. After WE spoke to them, one of them led us to a table. After being seated our waitress comes over introduces herself, takes our order and walk off. I ordered a crabcake sandwich that comes with fries and coleslaw. Well once my order came, it was a crabcake sandwich and some soup. Me looking confuse, I say to my friend the menu said fries and this is soup. I stopped another waiter and asked her for another menu to confirm that it said fries, not soup. I then motioned for our waiter to come over which she did asking "Is everything okay?" I replied "No, I ordered a crabcake sandwich with fries and this is soup." she say "No problem, I will get you an order of fries." She takes the soup and about five minutes later she returns with a black basket with a black cloth table napkin inside the basket that had fries wrapped inside of the napkin. My friend grab two fries and says they are good and hot, I grabbed a fry took a bite only to discover that there is some kind of sauce on it. Puzzled I smell the fry and it smells like hot sauce. I picked up one more smelled it and there's no hot sauce, I picked up another and again no hot sauce. I ask my friend to smell the first fry and she says "It does smell like hot sauce." I motioned for our waiter to come over again, I explained to her that there is hot sauce on one fry in my basket. She apologizes and offers to get me another order of fries. I declined the second order of fries because at this point, I have truly lost my appetite with all kinds of thoughts going through my mind about where these fries came from. She returns with the bill and I ask if there was a manager I could speak with she replied "I can get her for you." 5-10 minutes later a female manager comes over and asks "Is everything okay?" I explained my experience and told her with half of a crabcake sandwich left which I was enjoying up until the whole hot sauce french fry ordeal, I have no intentions of paying for my meal. She said she would take my meal off the bill, and said that maybe the hot sauce had accidentally splashed on my order of fries. Really? Well I guess someone turned it over because when I picked it up, I didn't initially notice the hot sauce on it because the sauce was only underneath the fry. The manager looked at my friend, not me and apologized. (Which was totally rude) The manager deducted my meal from the bill. If you thought this was the end, wait there's more. As we are leaving the restaurant two of the three girls who are believed to be Hostess, never parted their lips to say Thank you or Please come again. They were only concerned with talking to one another. I can tolerate and overlook a lot of things but bad service is not acceptable. I understand why there is only one Jasper's left in the DMV. Eat at Jasper's????? NEVER AGAIN! Talk to Phil, the manager at this location. The demeanor Phil showed as it relates to bad service customers provided to his patrons spoke volumes of why this type of behavior happens at Jasper's. He was just as nonchalant as the Hostess, waiter and the night manager. What if I suffered from food allergies? The lack of accountability, is the reason for there being only one Jasper's left in the DMV and just like the others this will be closed in a year or two.

This place has really great sides! I've been there a few times and I've enjoyed every meal. The service was a bit slow. The waiters kinda abandoned the table and we had to flag them down. But other than that... I really enjoy visiting Jasper's!

  • D'artagnan C.

I remember the glory days of Jasper's, when both the food and service were good. Before it had more than one location, and even when the Crofton location was still open. But now, I've learned to expect lousy service and just-OK food. I would only recommend this for takeout for something better than fast food. And, never pick up your takeout from the bar. Expect a gamble: The bartenders' levels of responsiveness can vary from good to adequate to spaced-out-but-arrogant.

Had a great time with my homegirl. Our server Jordan was the bomb, the food was great and the drinks were awesome! Went during happy hour ( which is 4pm to close on weekdays except Friday) during the USA World Cup game. A great time!!!

After a concert, we were looking for a place to eat. We came to this place because it wasn't far from the concert. It was after midnight, we were hungry and this place satisfied our need. We were able to get seated quickly and the food came out quick. The food itself was just ...Ok.

Torn about this one. The food is hit or miss. Food alone could land this place 2 stars, 3 on a rare good day. Problem is the misses on the food and then.....service. Service is not horrible....but they just don't give a care! I realize for some that's not horrible but in my book there's a difference between rudeness and apathy. Lot of apathy going on there. Making matters worse....environment and clientele is....interesting. It's a place that I think works for the happy hour crowd that likes to get their drink on and get rowdy in the process. Also a place that tries to simulate a club/lounge environment on Friday/Saturday nights and lemme tell you....they could definitely charge for people watching. Someone call the narrator from National Geographic!

Pretty good place to try. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The drinks were good. I tried the Bone Crusher and my friend had the After Party. We both ordered the Jasper's Crab Explosion. Great crab cake! More crab than cake which is always awesome for me. I would go back!

I came here for dinner and ordered the stuffed tilapia and it was absolutely to die for the only thing I'm not a fan of is after 9:00 gratuity is automatically added which means the service sucked both times Ive been here after 9:00 but the food id great

Is this the last Jasper's in the area, still standing? At this rate, it won't be for much longer. The service and quality here continues to deteriorate. This used to be one of my favorite spots. They had the best stuffed shrimp and drinks. Now, I can't even get a decent lunch. Last week I placed a to go order for a salad with a side of grilled shrimp. After sitting on the phone for almost 15 minutes waiting for them to decide how to ring up the order since technically my salad isn't an entree so they can't add the side order of shrimp, my order was placed and I was enroute to pick it up. Got back to my office, and my shrimp smelled really fishy. I tasted a small piece and it was terrible. They tasted spoiled; as if they hadn't been stored properly before cooking. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, Miguel. He apologized and sent me a voucher for a complimentary entree. Ok, so a few days later I go back to have lunch with my son. We were seated and waited for over 10 minutes. Several servers walked by our table but no service was offered or provided. We got up to leave but not before speaking to a manager, Kim, who apologized and offered to seat us in her section and serve us as she was pulling double duties, but I'm so disgusted by this place that I declined, and we had lunch elsewhere. Outback next door has opened for lunch now, so it won't be long before they take Jasper's lunch crowd. Mark my words!!!

My husband and I decided to stop in for lunch last weekend and were surprised to find it a Ghost Town (it's a huge establishment with 30+ tables) but there were only two other couples eating there. Hmm... Anyhow, our server was very nice and prompt (not that she had any other tables, lol) and we really liked the atmosphere. It was a little dim, but very chill and had nice, spacious booths. Husband ordered a burger and fries, I ordered the Jambalaya Pasta (it has shrimp, chicken and andoille sausage in a Cajun spicy sauce) with a Caesar salad. The best part of the meal was the salad (so crisp and a little tangy w/sun-dried tomatoes) and the french fries. The burger was just "ok" (not as good as Applebee's, Timothy Dean's, or Red Robin according to husband) and the pasta was a mess. It kind of tasted like chili (minus the beans) mixed with spaghetti sauce over top of linguini. I'm not sure how they managed to make it both bland and spicy at the same time, but somehow they did. I think a little salt and garlic would have helped it. Needless to say, I kept sprinkling more and more salt on it because I was hungry, then finally gave up and took more than half of it home. I opened up the container a few hours later and it had a very strong, fishy odor. I tasted a little bit and found the fishy taste was overpowering the noodles and other flavors, so i threw it away. Our meal total was $36 which didn't feel like money well spent for a great salad and fries, mediocre burger, and terrible pasta.

i thought jaspers was a very cool experience I loved the food && my waitress Peggy was the greatest The drinks were hard and everlasting --- just the way i like it i would give jaspers a 4 out of 5 ... on;y because you cant wear causal wear to this establishment .. and i get a more of a casual family type of feel from this restaurant not fru fru ... oh but i am mad because i heard they moved :(

I've loved Jaspers in the past, but now I am terribly offended. (1) First, I asked for "a small taste" of one of the rum infusion drinks in a double-shot glass. My order was mistaken for a double-order, and I was charged $19 for a drink. I fought with both the server and the manager, saying that my order should have been repeated/clarified, but they would not budge. (2) Second, I ask for a black bean burger with toppings on the side. The burger is brought with cheese on top! Sheesh! (3) Our order consisted of appetizers and drinks, and the entire bill came to $40. An additional 18% tip was tacked onto the bill without fore-warning. (4) I was at the bar with the boyfriend. I paid the bill, but the check was brought to him to sign! I was offended and made a comment to the manager. She said that the servers are trained to always assume that the man (boyfriend, husband) is paying for the female companion. The manager said that SHE ALWAYS PUT THE CHECK IN FRONT OF THE MAN!!!! WHAT?!?!? I WILL NOT COME HERE AGAIN.

I don't see why this place gets mediocre reviews. Came here for an early Sunday brunch and the buffet was pretty damn good. The food was hot & fresh, with lots of variety. I'm not a fan of buffets (in general) but overall I thought it was really good. Love the ambience here...dimly lit & spacious. Service was prompt & friendly & I'd come back for the brunch buffet. Try the omelette bar!

Ok so if you are in the area and this is the only place you can go to, then just go home. This place is more of a headache than a good time. When you walk in you're surrounded by dated furniture and old carpet. It only looks "fancy" because of the low lighting. There is a huge bar in the middle of the place with seating all around but the problem with that is there are never any seats! All the PG county locals seem to congregate at this water hole. The music is decent. The food is nothing to write home about especially since I had a dead gnat floating in my first drink and hair mixed in my green beans. The waitress took forever to take my group's order and we had to figure out ourselves what the late night happy hour had. The only reason this place is getting two stars is bc the drinks are ridiculously strong. If you ask for a mixer then you get mostly alcohol and a splash of mixer. I mean how can a vodka and lemonade look clear?! Oh word to the wise- the kitchen closes around 12, the late night happy hour prices on food/drinks are only for those in the bar area, don't dress up bc it's a hood spot.

Food was good, drinks were good, but I was wondering why my server was so forgetfull, lazy, and slow and then I found out it was because it was after 10pm so they automatically add 18% gratuity to your bill no matter the size of your party smh.

Use to come to this place when I was under thee tender age of 18 but only came for their brunch which always hit the spot. I came here once after that for dinner but I barely remember it so I feel as if that does not count. Came here with the boo thing and had a great time. The bartender was good and prompt and the crowd was pleasant (Maybe because I'm from literally around the corner I'm use to the crowd. But they are way far from bad aren't even rowdy). Only reason I give four stars is because the calamari was very greasy and they sauce they provided was smooth and did not contrast the grease stuck in the batter. (Marinara sauce anybody!) Disappointed food wise and may give them another chance if I'm in the mood. But drink wise #winning

Sooooo - for an $18 all you can eat brunch - it ain't bad! The omelette station was great!! They had 4 or 5 burners and they were TRULY working them! The suggestion I would make is to have ONE pan, spatula and towel set aside for ppl with shrimp allergies like me. Most stations now don't even offer shrimp, so I ppl really appreciate that. The chef was however VERY accomodating in my request to wash out the pan and spatula instead of just wiping it off like they do. Wiping it DOESN'T clean it and there is definetly still shrimp residue in the towel. The fried chicken was a bit small and over fried, though. I didn't try the carving station, but it looked nice. Like another review stated, it was PACKED! But our wait wasn't as long as they told us, which was good. The LINES however to get food were AWFUL!!!!! I get it....It's $18, REALLY cheap for all you can eat brunch! And - they DID have a great omlette station, waffles, fruit and such. My suggestion would be to try and maximize the space more. It was REALLY tight in there - REALLY. Maybe use the bar as the ENTIRE bar as an alternate spot and just let go of the 10 seats it provides. The mimosa, while only 4.99 (I believe) was more like Orange juice with died out fizz than it was OJ and Sparking wine. They should also probably have a reservation system. That may make it a bit more palatable. At LEAST have call ahead seating. All in all - it was definetly worth it for the price. We've been to many a buffett in the area and we'd go back there merely because of the price.

The food here is just ok but the drinks are definitely the best part. Also the restaurant stays open late even on week nights giving you a late night option. I usually stick to the happy hour menu which is discounted around the bar area. The crab dip is pretty good and so are the wings. The drinks are amazing and priced reasonably.

If I'm in the area while it's still happy hour and I feel like having a 20 oz. margarita, then I'll be back. The food is alright, the service is mediocre, but a 20 oz. margarita after a very hard day is all I'm after.

This is the BEST place that I have been to for brunch in PG County. My family and I go here often. We went for Father's Day - it was packed. The wait was 45-60 minutes. There were several seats in the bar area so we opted for that area. The bar area was wonderful - the bartender was very attentive and nice. Did I mention how packed it was? This is the first time that I had to wait in line for a waffle! They have an omelet bar, a fajita bar, breakfast meats, a carving station with usually 2 meats, fried chicken, fried fish, mac & cheese, home fries, and tons of other things - including a great dessert spread. I wanted a "peach" tea that wasn't on the menu. The bartender (our server) made one up for me - it was delicious! The atmosphere is always nice. Folks are always friendly. The restaurant tends to get crowded around noonish - this is no doubt around the time that many early morning church goers are done with services. I love this place!

I was here for drinks and appetizers with a group of co workers. We were celebrating work accomplishments and getting to know each other. Atmosphere: B This place is clean and has a nice casual bar-like feel. Crowd was friendly. I could do without the mirrored walls, though. Service: F We were a group of 8 and our waiter just couldn't keep it together. We arrived as a group of 4 and then more people were arriving to total a party of 8. He never came to take our drink order when more people arrived and was just plain clumsy! My co workers each had 2 drinks before he came down to our side of the table to take our orders. The service was VERY slow and inaccurate. He kept putting the appetizers at the wrong side of the table. Food: C I had boneless chicken wings and calamari. The calamari batter was tasteless and the calamari was very rubbery. The boneless wings were okay but one of the sauces tasted off. You can tell that this food is frozen and then fried. It's nothing really special. Drinks: F I ordered a mango coconut martini. It looked beautiful until I picked up the glass - it was plastic! The stem of the glass was cruddy and I didn't want to be picky in front of my co workers, so I sipped the drink and hoped I wouldn't get sick from a dirty glass. The drink was SOOOO sweet and I wasn't even sure if the vodka was even in it! YUCK. If we come back in town for a work event, I will definitely suggest somewhere else!

Initially I had thoughts that this place was going to be decent... like the restaurants nearby Jasper's - Ruby Tuesdays or Outback- but turns out it might be one of the best in Landover. Pricey but worth the trip. Asian Salmon Teriyaki, Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Fajitas, Mediterranean Pasta are all the dishes we've have tried here. Their honey wheat bread rolls are so good and to top that off, their homemade butter is TO DIE FOR! But save your tummy for your entree. Portions are big! Staff is pleasant and accommodating. Curb Side To Go is always a nice feature. Two negative things - dark parking lots with police patrolling most of the time and when ordering curb side to go, there is always quite a wait on the phone until someone takes your order.

The first thing I DONT want to see when I walk into a restaurant is the hostess playing on their phones...and throughout the time I was here. It's unappealing to watch this. Put your phone away and get to work or go home and don't get paid...you pick. Took forever to get drinks. Waitstaff was slow. Giving one star due to customer service. As I asked for Parmesan cheese the waitress came back and told me they'll have to charge me extra for it! I got pasta it's standard to have Parmesan cheese with any pasta dish. Finally convincing the waitress she came back with some Parmesan and said the manager said it was "ok". As a chef myself I'm trying to figure out where the miscommunication is here. The host decided he wanted to sit with a table for at least 20 minutes. Once again if he doesn't want to work stop wasting the restaurants time, money and man power. Food was ok I had the lunch spicy shrimp and chicken pasta. Alfredo sauce was oily and lacked seasoning. Friend has a turkey and avocado club but I had better sandwiches at subway. Any who definitely won't return and not worth the money spent. I'm not a picky eater but things add up when reviewing quality of a restaurant. One star is well deserved for this place.

Nice neighborhood place good wings good drinks nice bartenders until today I had the displeasure of meeting the rudest person at the bar today his name is Kelson B he only works weekends and I only almost always come weekdays for happy hour andI wish I didn't like I said before its a pretty nice neighborhood bar this guy ignored me and my friends for over 30 mins even after being call multiple times it was really sad luckily another bartender was able to get our check and desserts and happily send us on our way KELSON B should really take time to b nice to all guest. and in my opinion I wouldn't let him wait on me ever again I would rather go someplace else on the weekend

I've NEVER had a problem in Jasper's until tonight.... poor customer service from our server, Diamond, made us NOT want to pay the automatic gratuity AND prompted us to vacate our seats for the bar. Mediocre customer service dictates that you clean the tables - especially when it's requested twice; take our order promptly or AT LEAST acknowledge us; and not cop an attitude when we leave for better pastures (body language is EVERYTHING).... I guess diamonds AREN'T a girl's best friend...

My party of three went for lunch on a Friday. My daughter ordered a side of fries and showed me what looked like a fried pork chop in it. I asked for the manager to show him. I questioned if the policy was to share grease since two out of the three people in my party did not eat pork. The manager's response was, "When busy we do decide to cross fry but that does not look like pork... It looks like old chicken that has just been in the fryer a long time. (THAT MAKES IT SO MUCH BETTER!!!)I can order you another side of fries if you want." "UMMMM SHE WILL PASS!!) My daughter no longer wanted the fries and I felt the very least he could have done was taken them off the bill but I was having a great day and decided to just let it go. (HAD IT BEEN A MORE EXPENSIVE ITEM ON THE MENU I MAY HAVE HAD TO LET HIM HAVE IT) My server left me a note with his name and number on it. I am not sure if he was just working for a great tip or I am just that f'ing sexy. I chose to go with the second. Service was was good...... Food was good.... Blah Blah Blah.... GOOD

I've given Jasper's more than one try and to date I still can't give them more than 2 stars and I'm being nice doing that. I went yesterday for brunch and while I didn't order brunch it appears to have been a hit for the others in my party. I will say its reasonably priced $18/adults which isn't bad and it appears to have a variety of foods...meaning there's something for everyone on the brunch menu. I realize the place was crowded...cool, but when you sit down and the waitress doesn't come near your table for 15 minutes that's not a good sign, but ok we stay because we didn't feel like driving to another restaurant. So the waitress finally come to the table and take our drink and food order...well....15 more minutes we still didn't have drinks, flatware or napkins. Now at this point I'm like ARE YOU KIDDING ME...but hey I'm thinking its crowded so I let it go. We finally get our drinks and flatware so we're like ok cool. I think this is what really threw me off...we ordered Mimosa's...and I'm not sure about you all...but I've never had a mimosa with a glass full of ice. Ok really...when did they start putting ice in mimosa's? We asked for another w/o the ice and OMG they brought us a glass with 1/4 of it filled with champagne & orange juice...now we know what all the ice was necessary so it would appear you had a good amount of drink. The only reason I'm giving this review 2 stars is I ordered the lobster bisque soup and IT WAS GOOD. Will I go here again...no...I've given Jasper's too many tries to get it right so I've informed people I know if you're having a gathering at Jasper's I WILL NOT BE IN ATTENDANCE.

Been there two times. Didn't like either the food or service the first time, but decided I would give it a second try--wish I hadn't. Went there for dinner on Wednesday night and there were people there, but not crowded. Three of us ordered our food and a fourth person came later and ordered hers about 10 minutes after we ordered ours. Oddly, the person who ordered last got her food first. Fifteen minutes later, the remaining three of us were still looking for our food. When I finally flagged down our waitress (who saw that only 1 plate had arrived, but still hadn't checked on the remaining food), she went to the kitchen and came out with the rest of our food. It was lukewarm. No apologies, no explanation, no nothing. I sent mine back, but was told a new plate would take at least 15 minutes. After already waiting half an hour, thanks, but no thanks--so I left with no food. This place has the potential to be a good restaurant, but the mediocre service is definitely holding it back. I won't go back.

Brunch-great for when you just want to fill up on decent food. The pound cake and pound cake-like cornbread is delish if you're a big bread eater like moi. The fried fish (when they have it) is great when it first comes out as well as the fried chicken. There's an omelette station as well. There's usually a wait on Sundays because of the after-church crowd so the earlier the better.

This place looks like club when you walk in. Pretty cool looking actually. I wonder what it used to be before it was Jaspers..... Pros: -The bread (the dark one) is absolutely delish! -Drinks were good -I havent been there specifically for happy hour, but the bar is ALWAYS packed and seems like its poppin all the time. -The first time I came I had Jamabalaya with Rice--It was sooooooooooooooo freakin good. Second time, it was meh... aight. Maybe I was starving the first time? idk. -If you dont try anything else, make sure to try the sweet potato casserole. WHAT????? sigh.... orgasmic. Cons: -Parking. There are 2 other restaurants in the same vicinity, so evenings and weekends are a nightmare to park. -Took a while for servers to come around. I think it was because it was so crowded. Loud, Lively, I'd say Good for a 2nd date or night out with friends.

Hmm, the service was slow and my wings were fatty and subpar, to be honest :( But on the upside: the restaurant LOOKS nice, and the free bread they give you is soooo good. I mean, it's amazingly good--especially with a little butter. The cheesecake I tasted off of my bf's plate was pretty decent. I may try this place again. For now, I just consider it average. And it should NOT take 30-40 minutes to get 8-10 wings, seriously.

I'm giving the two stars for service, because service was good today the young man was very attentive. The food was horrible. I was so caught up in it I forgot to take photos of what I had. I had the pork chops grilled which were very, may I repeat very bland! I had to ask for steak sauce to make them taste like something and then they still were a mess. I also had sweet pot side it was to full of pecans. Come on people lets taste the pot! The cesear salad was too cheesy. Why put all the parm on top of a salad I wanna taste the lettuce and dressing at least darn! Operation don't order these items again from Jasper's!!!!!!!

New to the area, I was looking forward to trying this place - especially after hearing so much hype about it. However, the food was about average - if that. The service was below average - casual (as if we were best friends) instead of friendly service, slow service and servers recommending other local restaurants. The desserts were/are great. The drinks were good. But, the rest = just okay. What we do know is that there is a robust social scene there - especially for urban professionals. So, if that is important - then make it happen.

Soooooooo, if you want to know what it's like to openly get got then the Jasper's in Largo is the place for you. Our individual checks were presented to my party @ 10:07.......coincidentally 7 minutes after the automatic 18% gratuity is automatically added to your check......good thing I am a practicing Christian

Uh....yeah...hmmmmm...what they said. I go here because it is down the street from the office, but that don't mean I have to like it...there are not a lot of choices in Largo.

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I had just left church and my friend decides to take me to Jaspers. They have a Sunday brunch buffet where I can eat my glutinous little heart out and he can watch the Redskins game. Should be simple right? WRONG. I will walk you through my experience. So I get to the host stand- the male host is inattentive and does not greet. After 15 seconds of awkward silence and him staring at me with his lip curled up I ask to put my name down for a table of two. His response - "NAME." He then tells me it's a 10 minute wait which is not too bad at all but my guy friend asks are we allowed to eat full menu at the bar. The hostess basically yells at us asking if we are going to eat at the bar or wait at the bar? At this point I am confused... WTH are you so angry about? I calmly tell the host, please keep my name on the list, we are just going to wait at the bar, to which he tells me in 10 minutes you need to come up here and check to see if you are table is ready. Wait, but I just saw you page another guest on the intercom... why do I have to come back and check in with you? Let's fast forward past the awkward and awful introduction. We are shortly called for our table. Of course they put us in the ONLY section in the entire restaurant with no visibility to the TVs. We kindly ask the server if it would be OK to move two tables over to be able to see the TVs. Entire section is basically empty so of course this shouldn't be a problem right? WRONG. She tells us, with complete hands motions and all, that the server for that section is done, cut, finito, no longer taking tables. OK, well you can't just pick up another table outside of your section? I'm sorry... I worked in the restaurant industry for three years so yes you can assign a different server to that table. It's not like you have chains confining you to these three tables in the corner. My friend becomes irritated and the server is extremely combative. I ask to speak with a manager and she tells me with entirely too much attitude to go ask the host to switch our table because "she doesn't have the authority to change tables". So my friend storms to the host stand to see what is the big deal about moving two tables over? Are those tables reserved? WTH is the big issue? And of course Mother Rudeness himself makes the issue worse by asking to see what table we want to move to? IT DOES NT MATTER, JUST ONE WHERE WE CAN SEE THE GAME! Yes 10 minutes wasted arguing with the host and server only to be sat at the exact table they fought so hard to keep us from. Did the restaurant get any more packed while we were there? Nope. Did a huge party enter that perhaps they were saving those tables for? Nope. Are they miserable staff members committed to ruining a perfectly beautiful Sunday with their funky attitudes? YES! And on to the food... it was OK. I have to admit the waffles were delish but for everything else they could definitely take some tips on how a Sunday brunch buffet should be from Copelands Buckhead Atlanta. The food is definitely not worth being aggravated beyond belief. The server did become progressively nicer towards the end of our meal, checking on us a record 3 times in 20 minutes. (Gotta make that tip huh girl?) But needless to say in its entirety I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. They literally just drain the happy out of you with their horrible attitudes. The majority of the staff is moping around with their faces screwed up. I hate to be that person but black people, my beautiful black people, GET IT TOGETHER. Jasper's I beg of you, please fix staff morale and service. There are way too many people without jobs who would kill to be in their positions. And to the staff of Jasper's - it may be a service job, but it's YOUR service job- if you don't like it QUIT! -Exits soapbox-

I went on a Sunday and arrived at 6pm. The party that I was with was about 15 people. They did not seat up because 2 people had not arrived yet. We tried to warn them that more people would come if they didn't seat up and the group ended up being 20 people. However because the service was extremely slow 10 didn't order ANYTHING. People were seated before us and they arrived 45minutes after we did. We sat down an hour later and they place wasn't packed. I had not been back to this spot since it was the BET Sound Stage opening night. No one orderd appizters and after hearing the food wasn't good most orders drinks. I orders a cup (yes...a cup) of lobster whatever..... I was one of the last to get it and it was luke warm with what tasted like some one tried to fool me with crab meat in a lobster soup. Needless to say I didn't order dessert. The only thing to order hear is drinks, from the bar that is.

I met a friend there for dinner. Pros: - Service was prompt - Food was well prepared and presented - Ample, convenient parking - Well-maintained, club like interior- nice dinner/happy hour atmosphere Cons: - None, really. If I just had to find something, the service people could be a little more friendly and welcoming

Jaspers, Jaspers, Jaspers...where do I begin? Starting off with the positives, Jaspers Tiger wings are some of the best wings I've had in life and I somewhat consider myself a wing enthusiast but wouldn't call myself an aficionado, to me thats code for fat boy particularly since wings is the specialized food of choice. I digressed, back on subject, their lump crab meat appetizer is great as well, aside from these two items I can't say that I am really wowed by anything else that they serve, everything else is just average. The crowd is cool, I've never had any problems however I never go out looking for trouble so it often does not find me, but being that there are cops parked outside the establishment on a consistent basis just in case something goes wrong tells me I always miss the shenanigans that cause the police to actually be engaged. My cousin goes here two or three times a week, used to be more than that when he worked at Verizon as though this place is Cheers, everyone knows his name, and he loves the "special treatment" (doesn't have to pay, more potent drinks) he gets when walking in this place, the only thing they don't do is yell him name when he walks through the door a la NORM!!! from Cheers. The only appeal to this place again are the two aforementioned menu items and their specialty drinks, oh and that light complected, nice lips & and t**s waitress/bartender who I keep trying to hook my cousin up with and that it is in close proximity and the late hours. Additionally, I prefer a mixed crowd myself so I am a little biased towards that.

I LOVE JASPERS! lol I've been to this place several times and every time is awesome. The food is great, they serve these huge great drinks, and the servers are always very professional. The only reason I wouldn't give them 5 stars is because they only allow you to get happy hour if you sit in the bar area and that's not always conducive to larger parties. Other than that... it's great. If you go, you gotta have the tiger wings...they're to die for!

The food is bad, the service is bad & the security is BAD!!! Apparently there is a theft ring that works out of the Jasper's parking lot. My car along with several others got broken into while I was here. There are two security guards and cameras and NONE OF THEM WORK!!!! Don't go here unless you want to get robbed!!!!!

I went to Jasper's for Sunday brunch. I am not the biggest fan of buffets in general so please consider that while reading my review. The service was mediocre. Our waitress was only attentive as we were leaving and she was over tipped. The food was JUST barely OK. My friend commented that his fajitas were watery. I had an omelet which was just OK. The fresh fruit was pretty nasty too. Most of the fruits were out of season and clearly whoever is picking the produce could care less. I WOULD NEVER EVER GO BACK..

I went here with some friends from out of town this past weekend. The food wasn't bad. We all had some variety of chicken sandwiches that they offer. The fries were actually pretty good considering that I hate just about everyones french fries lately. We also had quite a few drinks. The Long Island I had was strong enough and tasted pretty good. One of my friends had a Strawberry Mojito and said it was too sweet. My other buddy had some drink called the "Darth Vader" and he proceeded to down it in less than five minutes which was crazy due to its size! All in all, I think it's an alright neighborhood spot for me considering I live about 5 mins from this place. The drinks and food were ultimately fine and I think the next time I go it will be for the brunch that I'm hearing so much about.

Just came back from Jaspers to watch my beloved Giants play the Eagles (don't ask me how that game turned out :( Was our second choice after the crowds at another place kepts us away. Sat at the bar since our main intention was to watch the game. It was in the height of brunch time but the food and people were moving steadily and it actually wasn't packed. Had a salmon caesar salad (minus the bacon) for lunch and sat and watched the game with a friend. The salad was pretty good, well as far as caesar's go. I'm not generally a caesar fan, but wanted a salad that was filling with enough to last me for a couple of hours. Yeah after that salad don't even know if I need to eat dinner tonight. Was a good atmosphere in my opinion. Folks around the bar were chatty but it wasn't so much noise that I couldn't concentrate. The bartenders were friendly and efficient, and got my food out speedily. I actually preferred this venue, since I wasn't in the mood for a whole lot of trash talking, yet wasn't in the mood to watch the game from home. My friend had the brunch (which I've had before) She thought it was great, didn't feel for breakfast food this time. The last time I had brunch there, it was uh, ok. Nothing to rave about although I liked that there was a lot on the selection bar. So Jaspers isn't my "oooh I have a taste for Jaspers" kinda place. I just don't think the food is all that great. But its ok, and for a place to catch the game in a semi social semi quiet location, it works for me!

blah! This review is for Sundary brunch. Was dragged here by the hubs last Sunday, it was his bday weekend, so I had to suck it up. We got here early so there was no wait (thank goodness) but the place quickly filled up. The buffet is ok, not a big fan of any of the "lunch foods." I basically ended up eating some waffles, cheese eggs, and fruit (which was not the best). A meal I could have gotten from Bob Evans for much cheaper. Hubby seemed to enjoy his food, but he'll literally eat anything. Would have gotten 3 stars, but the lines for the breakfast food/waffles were ridiculous. I don't like to wait when I'm hungry.

I came here on a tuesday night with a really close friend of mine. We made reservations for 7:30 but we then requested to sit in Monica's section because shes an awesome server. Her section was full so we had some drinks at the bar. Ketel one Soda, and hornitos sauza coke. Those were the first drinks to come and they weren't the last. When we were seated about 20 minutes later we started with a chicken basket, and its always so delicious. We were deciding between the filet Mignon, or prime rib. But Monica told us how good the in-bone rutherford 22oz steak was and we both decided to go with that. It's a $40 steak and its definitely worth it if your splurging. I usually get the Caesar salad with anchovies but since I got the big ass steak i decided to skip the greens. I did get a side of brussel sprouts which is always awesome. By the time we finished our steaks we had already had 3 rounds of drinks and had no room saved for dessert. I really wanted to get dessert, next time I come by I'll start with dessert so I don't miss out on it!

Out of the Jaspers, this is the most packed especially at brunch and Happy Hour. It's a newer than the others as well and used to be the old BET Soundstage Club which may have much to do with the crowds. The brunch is slightly better here than at Greenbelt. Casual place to eat that serves standard, American, TGIFridays-type food. It can get a bit sceney during happy hour and weekend nights so be aware. Good place to go and hang out with friends. People go to pretty much be seen during these times and it can be crowded. The people watching is great though. Happy Hour specials are pretty good and the portions are huge. The BBQ Chicken Sandwich was a go to favorite and I liked the Buffalo Wings, Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls (!), and Chinolatino Eggrolls. Crispy fried fatty goodness. Depending on the bartender, drinks can be good and strong. This is a place you'd go to for the aforementioned times and for sporting events if you want noise and atmosphere and entertainment.

I love the tuscan shrimp! I always get a Long Island or the Hahn Merlot and this appetizer. It's my favorite. I have had the blue cheese burger and it was pretty good but there is no dish like the Tuscan shrimp dish with the fried zuchini. In fact I may go there for happy hour when I get off from work Wednesday. There are different crowds that come thru but you're in Largo not Beverly Hills.

Sorry, not impressed. Was looking for a good place to eat while visiting from Atlanta, I think I could've gone to regular old Outback next door and had a better meal. When I walked in I wasnt sure if we were in a club, a casino, a sports bar!?! The place is humongous, but looked nice enough. It looks like 4 restaurants in one. We had about a 15 minute wait, not too bad and was seated in a nice big comfy booth. When our server finally showed up he was quite a silly teenage boy who seemed overwhelmed. He got the drink orders wrong. He completely forgot to put in the order for appetizers. When we mentioned it he laughed it off and made a joke...doesn't he know hungry people are serious about their food and that the fact he was a Chris Brown look-a-like was not going to matter to me? Not amused. We had the New Orleans Shrimp for an appetizer...I visit NOLA at least 4 times a year for business...all I'm saying is Jasper needs to rename that dish as it does not compare. Followed with the French Onion soup which was more like onion water with bread and cheese. But then for the entree came the Crab Explosion...it was actually VERY good. Seasoned well, no fillers like they do in Atlanta. Crab isn't my thing as it makes me nauseous if eating too much of it, I'm a lobster kind of girl, but I give that Crab Explosion a 4.5 out of 5. But that's all that was good. Lastly, the police swarming the parking lot when I arrived and still there when I left concerned me...I didn't know if I should feel safe or worried. That was just weird in a restaurant parking lot as if it was a club and they expected something crazy to go down. The service started bad and ended bad. Won't recommend, won't be returning.

1.5 stars. ha. 3 words: hood.rat.heaven. (or is hoodrat one word?) i'd almost describe jasper's as the ghetto version of T.G.I.Friday's. almost. it's not quite that bad, but close. the food is either tasteless or a salt lick, and usually greasy and luke warm. service is miss more than hit. if you go on a week night - especially thursday to saturday - be prepared for the hood rat parade. the bar will be packed and if nothing else, good for people watching/some cheap entertainment. i think they have brunch on the weekends too, but i doubt it's worth finding out for sure.

Jasper's is close to my office and its probably the best place to get above-average food at a good price with a decent atmosphere in Landover. And that's not saying much. The $7.99 lunch menu is a big hit, and provides enough variety that you can get something different every time. My favorites are the buffalo chicken salad (big portion for the price) and the crabcake combo. The food isn't spectacular, but when combined with the atmosphere, its definitely a clear step above the other local options like Bugaboo, Applebees, and Ruby Tuesday. I get the impression that Jasper's is a very different place at night though. I've been for happy hour a few times and the bar area can get very crowded.

We went here for a birthday dinner last weekend and it wasn't a good experience. A few members of our party enjoyed their food but the majority complained about the food being bland. Mine was so-so. The service was the biggest downfall, this is a place where they aren't taught to keep glasses of water full and check on patrons regularly, etc. Poor management in general. I think people come here for the bar, but I wouldn't recommend it for dining. I'm big on good customer service so this place gets just one star.

I typically don't like Jaspers. I just happened to go because some friends suggested it. I had low expectations. However, I was surprised today. The service was good. The red beans and rice were off the chain. I recommend it for sure. I had the strawberry shortcake for dessert. I usually hate strawberry sauce because I picture it coming from a bottle. However, the shortcake was good and the sauce tasted fresh. I do plan on checking Jaspers out again. I hope I stay a fan.
